Our course will best suit students who are interested in developing the knowledge and capability to successfully apply the latest career development theory into practice, and to build a portfolio of tools and resources to support their practice in career guidance.
The learning materials feature insights from a range of industry experts in careers and employability, offering practical lessons and real-world applications of the course content.

Yes, you can. You pay an initial upfront enrolment fee and then you can pay in full or separately for each of the four subjects.
As a Career Consultant, you may need to complete the full qualification to achieve your Certificate IV in Career Development. However, we encourage students to complete the course at their own pace. You do not need any additional qualifications, although some employers may require specific professional association membership and or other specific certifications to operate within a particular workplace, including Police and Working with Children Checks.
Yes, the Certificate IV is the entry level qualification into working in the career development profession. Further qualification in a Graduate Certificate can lead to eligibility for registration with CICA and Professional Membership with industry associations.
You do not need to purchase any textbooks to complete the course. All required reference materials are provided, along with links to publicly available reference material.
No, you don’t. As the subject is self-paced, you can complete the qualification as quickly as you can finish learning materials and assessments or take as much time as required. You can start each subject at the time that suits you. We recommend that you aim to complete the Graduate Certificate of Career Development Practice within 12 months to support continuity of learning and to enable you to engage in the post qualification work opportunities, however you are in complete control of when you study and how long you take to complete the course.
There are two types of assessment for each subject:
Online knowledge quizzes for each module. You can attempt these as many times as you need to. These check for your understanding. They are automatically marked.
Written Practical Assessments – there are two of these per subject.These are scaffolded and you can submit them online. They are practical in nature and reinforce your application of theories, strategies and techniques. Your Assessor will mark your assessments and provide feedback to help you meet competency.
